Awards Announced: Curricular Development Opportunity for Ph.D. Students

Humanities Engage is delighted to announce that the following students have received funding from our Curricular Development Opportunity for Ph.D. Students: New Collections-Based Modules in Existing Undergraduate Courses.

These doctoral students will gain leadership experience in curricular development, digital pedagogy strategies, and collaborative skills by working with a faculty collaborator as well with librarians, archivists, and curators.

  • Isaiah Bertagnolli (History of Art and Architecture) with Dr. Alex Taylor: module on the transgender artist Greer Lankton for the HAA1022: Exhibition Presentation course
  • Yacine Chemssi (French & Film and Media Studies) with Dr. Brett David Wells: module on four French-speaking regions (Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia) for FR 0104: French in a Global Context
  • Vivian Feldblyum (Philosophy) with Dr. Nicholas Rescher: module on the Vienna Circle, using the “Archives of Scientific Philosophy” for PHIL 1200: 20th Century Analytic Philosophy
  • Yujin Jang (English) with Dr. Caro Pirri: module on cross-cultural understandings of Shakespeare, using the MIT Global Shakespeares: Video and Performance Archive for ENGLIT 0580: Introduction to Shakespeare.
  • Sebastian Leal-Arenas (Hispanic Linguistics) with Dr. Marta Ortega-Llebaria: module on Spanish intonation for intermediate and advanced Spanish language courses
